............. Heaps of Quizlet vocabulary sets- search for YVONZ Learn about December in New Zealand: December is the ‘silly season’ in New Zealand. It is the start of Christmas shopping, Santa parades in local centers, the start of the holidays for most students, the end of exams and of the year. There are lots of work parties and the festive season lasts until after the January New Year Holiday break. The longest day is on the 22nd, Christmas Eve is on the 24th, Christmas Day is on the 25th, Boxing Day is on the 26th and of course there is the New Year’s Eve party on the 31st. Most Kiwis sleep in after the party the next day or stay up all night to see the sunrise. It is the first month of our summer, it starts to get hot and you can get sunburnt. It still rains and the wind is often gusty. Summer sports like tennis, cricket and water sports continue. See this month's activities for more information or free lesson for some apps about New Zealand culture. ..... This site always has new stuff every month so come back soon. Thinking of studying English in NEW ZEALAND? This is where I teach! Language courses, trades, business and IT highly recommended. |
